Worth His Freedom
Miria, a young noblewoman on the cusp of an arranged marriage, meets the Ausir Tsalrin, her father's mysterious assassin, and sparks fly immediately. They face obstacles of political machinations and racial intolerance. Tsalrin is trapped by an ancient curse, and Miria cannot escape her father or the husband to whom he would sell her, a man who sees her merely as a political tool. Miria and Tsalrin's position is impossible, but neither one will give up their hidden love. Theirs is a story of struggle against abuse, bigotry, and paterfamilias. Their love is both their greatest danger and their only comfort as they search for their mutual freedom.

This is our first novel, and Isabelle and I thrilled to share it with you all. Being fantasy romance, it is set in an alternate world, not Earth. It is peopled by humans (represented by the heroine) and the Ausir, a long-lived race with horns and pointed ears (represented by the hero). We chose to write romance because we are of the opinion that the best stories are love stories. We do not write for erotic stimulation; we do not write for frisson. We just want to tell a good story and stay true to what love is, that underlying, universal love every reader can identify with. Writing this novel was a lot of fun, but it was also hard work.
With six children, we'd have to wait until the kids were all in bed before we could sit down to write at night. But we got through it, with mutual support and encouragement. We cannot thank Litopia and its members enough for all the advice so freely given to us! We couldn't have done it without you!
Our release date was November 7th, 2011 from Evernight Publishing, and it is a bestselling novel!
Our second novel is titled Bride for the God-King.
